Armenia's Hovhannes Bachkov eliminates Azeri boxer from Tokyo 2020

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lightweight Armenian boxer Hovhannes Bachkov (63kg) has advanced to the Tokyo Olympics quarterfinals with an impressive 4:1 victory over Azerbaijan’s Javid Chalabiyev on Saturday, July 31.

Bachkov will face Elnur Abduraimov of Uzbekistan his quarterfinal bout. The matchup was established after Abudraimov outpointed Bakhodir Usmunov of Tajikistan.

After his victory Bachkov sent a message to his compatriots. “Thank you to all those who were waiting for this victory. I have received so many messages, thank you for your support,” Bachkov said.
