Russia confirms Azerbaijan's drone strikes in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday, August 12 confirmed Azerbaijan's ceasefire violations against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

"Over the past day, one violation of the ceasefire was registered," the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed in the region since the end of hostilities in late 2020 said in a statement.

"On August 11, 2021, at 7.29 am and 7.58 am, the Azerbaijani armed forces delivered two strikes with the use of combat quadcopters on the position of the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh, near the observation post 2 kilometers north-west of Yeghtsahogh. There are no casualties."

On Thursday, the Azerbaijani units attempted to cross the contact line in Artsakh, the Defense Army reported. The Armenian side took suppressive measures and threw the Azerbaijanis back to their positions. No casualties were reported on Thursday either.

Azerbaijan has been actively violating the ceasefire with both Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in the past days, firing from various caliber weapons and even using suicide drones.
