Azerbaijan awards Turkish pilots for participating in Karabakh War

PanARMENIAN.Net - A group of Turkish pilots and servicemen were awarded medals of Azerbaijan for their participation in the Second Karabakh War unleashed by Baku against the people of Artsakh (Karabakh) in late 2020.

In the war against Artsakh (Karabakh), Turkey supported Azerbaijan militarily, also by transferring terrorist mercenaries from the Middle East to fight against Karabakh. Armenia was the first to report on Turkey's deployment of thousands of Syrian fighters to Azerbaijan. International media publications followed suit, as did reactions from France, Russia, Iran and Syria. The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army has already unveiled footage from the interrogation of two such terrorists captured on the front.

Governor of Amasya Mustafa Masatli noted at the ceremony on August 21 that Turkey, driven by the principle of "One nation, two states", provided all kinds of support during the war, Haqqin.az reports.

Turkey, a Nato member, deployed F-16 fighter jets for joint exercises in Azerbaijan in August 2020. The aircraft, however, did not return to their bases in Turkey immediately and were instead used by Baku in the 44-day war against Artsakh. The Defense Ministry reported on September 29 that an F-16 jet belonging to Turkey's air force shot down a Su-25 attack bomber flying in Armenia's airspace, killing the pilot.
