The squad held their first training on September 3, the Football Federation of Armenia reports. After four games, Armenia are on top of Group J with 10 points, closely followed by Germany with 9 points and North Macedonia with 7. The group winner will qualify directly for the World Cup finals, while the runner-up will advance to the second round (play-offs). The team was held to a draw against North Macedonia on September 2, and will face Liechtenstein on September 8.
