Russia's new Commander of Karabakh peacekeeping forces in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan on Thursday, September 9 met the newly appointed commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, Major General Mikhail Kosobokov, as well as the commander of the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia, Colonel Dmitry Ovcharov in Yerevan.

The meeting was also attended by the Defense Attaché of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, Colonel Igor Shcherbakov.

The Armenian Defense Minister said he highly appreciates Russia's efforts to stabilize the military-political situation in the region, as well as the course and effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh (Karabakh).

The parties also exchanged views on regional security issues.
