Pope Francis sends prayers, blessings to Armenian nation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Pope Francis has sent a congratulatory message to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian on Armenia's Independence Day Tuesday, September 21, Sarkissian's office reveals.

“On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of your country – the holiday of September 21 – I am sending you my joyful and warm congratulations, as well as wishes of prosperity and peace sent to the Armenian people," the pope said.

"I pray to the Almighty God for the blessing of the efforts of all those people who responsibly and devotedly work for the safety and prosperity of the people. May Divine blessings be with the people of Armenia and with you."

Russian, French and American Presidents – Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron and Joe Biden – too have sent congratulatory messages.
