PanARMENIAN.Net - The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has commented on the murder of a civilian by an Azerbaijani sniper in the Martakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh, noting that the tragedy confirms the importance of the strict observance of all provisions of the statements of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.

Aram Tepnunts (b.1966) was murdered while working in his orchard near the town of Martakert.

“On October 9, as a result of shelling from the Azerbaijani side, a civilian from the village of Matagghs was fatally wounded in Martakert region. We express our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is conducting an investigation with the involvement of representatives of both sides,” Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday, October 14.

According to her, in order to coordinate efforts to prevent incidents in their zone of responsibility, the Russian peacekeepers maintain continuous interaction with the general staffs of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“This tragic incident confirms the importance of the strict observance of all provisions of the statements of the leaders of the three countries," Zakharova said.
