The head of the Greek parliament stressed the importance of interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries. Referring to joint projects, he highlighted the Twinning program within the European Union. According to him, the parliaments of Armenia and Greece have accumulated a lot of successful experience while implementing the project. Simonyan, in turn, congratulated Tasoulas and the people of Greece on the 200th anniversary of independence from the Ottoman Empire. The sides agreed that the Armenian-Greek relations are at a high level and are based on a rich, multifaceted bilateral agenda. Simonyan stressed the importance of cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Greece, highlighting the role of the activities of the friendship groups. He also assured that Armenia is interested in close inter-parliamentary cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms. Prospects of trilateral cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia, Greece and Cyprus were also on the table. The parties weighed in on the situation after the 44-day war. In this context, the President of the National Assembly emphasized the balanced position of Greece in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.
