Reports: New Armenia-Russia-Azerbaijan statements expected on Nov. 9

PanARMENIAN.Net - A trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan – Vladimir Putin, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev – may take place in Moscow by November 10. After negotiations, trilateral statements could be signed, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The leaders of the three countries last met in Moscow in January 2021.

Aliq Media reported, meanwhile, that the sides will meet on November 9 and sign two statements. According to a diplomatic source, one of the documents will relate to the delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, with the two expected to recognize each other's territorial integrity based on 1920 maps of the Soviet Union.

The second document, which has almost been finalized, reaffirms the sides' determination to unblock regional communications, including establish connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhijevan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, October 21 that Armenia and Azerbaijan can resolve border issues using maps from the Soviet period, but the process requires mutual compromises.
