President: Encroachment on Armenia's sovereignty unacceptable

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Armen Sarkissian has said that he considers unacceptable any encroachment on the borders, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, the lives of its citizens, their free and safe movement and all other fundamental rights.

"In the event of any encroachment, the relevant state bodies and officials, within their powers stipulated by the Constitution and laws, are obliged to undertake all means and use all options to ensure the defense, security, territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and the inviolability of its borders," Sarkissian said on his Telegram channel.

Azerbaijani forces violated Armenia’s border in several sections in the provinces of Syunik and Gegharkunik on May 12 and 13 and are still refusing to withdraw their troops from the area. Since then, almost a dozen Armenian servicemen have been killed in Azerbaijan’s shooting, a dozen others have been wounded.
