Karabakh: Russian troops ensure safe entry, exit of 2,000 people in one day

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian peacekeepers deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) have ensured the safe entry and exit of more than 2,000 people in a single day through their observation posts and the Lachin corridor, Russian Defense Ministry reports.

The peacekeeping contingent provides round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and ensures that the ceasefire is being observed through 27 posts located in the Lachin corridor and along the entire contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Russian peacekeepers were deployed in the region immediately after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh on November 9. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
