Moscow: Casting shadow on Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh won't work

PanARMENIAN.Net - Casting a shadow on Russian peacekeepers deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) will not work, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a briefing Thursday, January 14, commenting on such attempts by Azerbaijan.

“Even if someone wants to cast a shadow, it won't work, because their work is clear and well-coordinated, it is in the interests of resolving the crisis,” Zakharova said.

As for the specifics on the shelling of civilians in Nagorno-Karabakh, she said, it would be better to contact the representatives of the peacekeeping contingent who are investigating said incidents "if necessary".

On January 10, the Azerbaijani side fired on civilians and civilian facilities in the communities of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard of the Martuni region and the village of Nakhijevanik of the Askeran region.
