Another 200-MW solar project agreed in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - A second 200-MW solar park will be built in Armenia. The project was agreed and confirmed during President Armen Sarkissian's recent trip to the United Arab Emirates.

Sarkissian on Sunday, January 16 met with Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), which is implementing the project.

The two also weighed in on the possibility of making large investments in the field of wind energy in Armenia.

Masdar earlier secured the project with a final bid of USD 0.0290 per kWh. In 2019, the company and the Armenian National Interest Fund CJSC (ANIF) entered a joint development agreement to add 400 MW of solar PV capacity in Armenia, half of which will come from the above-mentioned project.
