Armenia opposition demands to see proposal sent by Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has demanded that the Armenian authorities publish the proposal sent by Azerbaijan, which is said to contain five points for normalizing relations between the two countries.

Abrahamyan's remarks came after Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said Friday, March 11 that they have sent a one-page proposal to Yerevan, which he said does not contain anything "out of the ordinary."

A member of the "I Have Honor" bloc, Abrahamyan believes that the Armenian side's silence raises questions and that the document must be made public immediately.

According to the MP, a process has happened or is underway between Azerbaijan and Armenia behind the scenes, which has led to the sharp increase in tension in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) in the past days.

One of the points in the proposal refers to the demarcation of the borders between the two countries, but Abrahamyan argues that nothing is known about the remaining points.

"The immediate publication of these proposals is important precisely because it will reveal a lot about the situation in Armenia, the situation around Artsakh, and Azerbaijan's ambitions," he maintained on Saturday.
