Azerbaijan trying to finish ethnic cleansing in Karabakh, says Pashinyan![]() March 24, 2022 - 16:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan is doing everything to complete its policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Armenian Prime Minister told a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, March 31. Pashinyan noted that Azerbaijan is trying to make it impossible for the Armenians of Artsakh to live in their homeland. "For almost a year and a half now, Azerbaijan has been boasting about a glorious victory in the 44-day war of 2020, but everything shows that the fact that after so much suffering and deprivation in Artsakh today, right now, about 117,000 Armenians live, Azerbaijan considers it its biggest defeat, the task is set to do everything to end the policy of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh," Pashinyan said. "In this sense, the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan the previous day, which said that the issue of gas supply to Artsakh is the internal affair of Azerbaijan, is very symbolic. "If we translate this statement from diplomatic language, it means “international community, don’t look here and let us bring to end the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocidal policy unhindered and unnoticed by the international community or under the guise of "counter-terrorism operations". This cannot happen. The Armenian diplomatic service, other officials, political forces, media, non-governmental organizations, individuals, through social networks, must present in detail the events of the last 15 days in Artsakh to the international community, to all instances." Beginning from March 8, over 100,000 residents in Karabakh were deprived of gas for over 10 days, and because the pipeline was damaged in territories currently under Baku's control, the Azerbaijani military would not allow the Armenian side to eliminate the problem. Gas supply resumed on March 19, only to be interrupted again on March 22. The Azerbaijan armed forces have also been violating the ceasefire and using loudspeakers to spread panic among the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, attempting to force them to leave their homes. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. ![]() ![]() Partner news | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
