Covid: Situation stable despite steep rise in cases – health officialJune 30, 2022 - 12:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The situation with the coronavirus in Armenia is stable, despite a significant increase in the number of cases registered in a week, says Romela Abovyan, head of the Department of Epidemiology of Noncommunicable Diseases at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Sputnik Armenia reports. "The epidemiological situation is stable, although during we have registered a 146% increase in the last 14 days against the previous 2 weeks. The reproduction coefficient of Covid-19 stood at 1․47," Abovyan said The expert noted that most of the new cases are discovered among people who take the test before leaving the country or after arriving. They usually have no symptoms, she added. According to Abovyan, no patient is currently hospitalized in Armenia with Covid. Moreover,the official said, by EU standards, Armenia is now in the "green zone" in terms of the epidemic. The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 139 to reach 423,243 between June 20 and 26, according to information provided by the Health Ministry.
