Inter confirm injury to Henrikh Mkhitaryan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Inter have officially confirmed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has currently out injured due to a hamstring issue, Football Italia reports.

The 33-year-old Armenian midfielder signed for the Nerazzurri on a free transfer last month after leaving Roma, adding another experienced veteran to Simone Inzaghi’s squad. Mkhitaryan did not start in the season opener against Lecce but came on in the 57th minute in place of Marcelo Brozovic.

As announced by Inter, medical tests carried out at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano confirmed that Mkhitaryan has a slight muscle injury to his left hamstring. The Armenian’s condition will be monitored on a daily basis, but he’s not expected to return to action for around two to three weeks.

Last season, the 33-year-old made 44 appearances across all competitions for Roma, for a total of 3354 minutes. In that time, he scored five goals and provided nine assists. Worryingly for Inter, Mkhitaryan missed the last four games of the Giallorossi’s Serie A season due to a hamstring injury.
