Negotiations are ongoing, and the decisive round will take place on September 1, the parties will discuss options for making the transition. Chelsea have not lost interest in the Russian player of Armenian origin. Reports claimed earlier that Zakharyan's move to Chelsea was unlikely. Zakharyan has just a £12.6m release clause. However, the deal will not go ahead because of sanctions on the Russian economy due to the war in Ukraine.
