Yerevan City Council to discuss appointing former Deputy PM as Deputy Mayor

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Yerevan City Council will discuss the appointment of former Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan in the post of Deputy Mayor on Tuesday, September 13.

According to a statement published in the website of Yerevan municipality, Avinyan has already been nominated in the post.

The politician has in the past served as a member of the Yerevan City Council. A founding member of the ruling Civil Contract Party. Avinyan was was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister under Nikol Pashinyan's administration in May 2018. However, he did not participate in elections in the summer of 2021.

Avinyanis said to run for Mayor in upcoming elections.
