Armenia says always expects some provocation from Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian side is always anticipating some kind of provocation from Azerbaijan, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan told reporters on Monday, September 12.

“We and our citizens believe that we should first solve our security issues, and security issues are solved in two ways: making peace with our neighbors and having a strong army,” Simonyan said Monday.

“We will develop the army. I can say that Suren Papikyan does his job quite successfully.”

According to Simonyan, Azerbaijan is getting ready for military drills with Turkey.

"Our understanding is to constantly monitor [the situation] and be ready for any development every minute. Let no one get the impression that we think all issues are resolved. We are always anticipating some kind of provocation from Azerbaijan," Simonyan announced.

Asked how likely the threat of war was, the politician said the Azerbaijanis will try to exert pressure in all possible places, while “we have prevented these pressures in every possible way, we will prevent them and we will advance the interests of Armenia and Artsakh” (NagornoKarabakh).
