No positive reaction from Azerbaijan, says Pashinyan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says there has been no positive reaction after he posed a question to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about the territory of Armenia.

Addressing the UN General Assembly on September 22, Pashinyan urged Aliyev to show the map of Armenia that he recognize or is ready to recognize as the Republic of Armenia.

“In my UN speech I posed a simple question: does Azerbaijan recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia in its internationally recognized borders? If so, we could proceed with peace treaty,” Pashinyan said on social media on Sunday, September 25.

“Unfortunately, there is no positive reaction. The question is why?” The latest round of fighting between the two countries began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. At least 207 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said on Monday.
