Azerbaijan returns 17 Armenian PoWs with U.S. mediation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan returned 17 prisoners of war to Armenia on Tuesday, October 4.

The repatriation, which according to the Armenian side was supposed to happen by September 30, was achieved with the mediation of the United States.

The latest round of fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. More than 200 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said on Monday.
