EU mission visits communities targeted by Azerbaijan’s aggression

Members of a European Union technical mission that has arrived in Armenia amid Azerbaijan’s ongoing aggression and ceasefire violations have visited the border communities in the province of Gegharkunik, which were shelled by Azerbaijan on September 13.

The delegation was accompanied by the commander of the second army corps, Colonel Vahram Grigoryan and, the head of the Vardenis community, Aharon Khachatryan.

During the trip, the European Union experts learned about the situation in the 12 communities that were targeted by the Azerbaijani military, including the hundreds of residential buildings, two schools, a kindergarten and a library.

The mission was deployed after Armenia lodged a request to the European Union. The agreement was reached an October 6 meeting between the leaders Armenia, Azerbaijan, France and the European Union, which was later ratified by all the 27 members of the bloc.
