Armenia: Not appropriate to comment on “chaotic statements” from Belarus

PanARMENIAN.Net - A spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry has said that it is not appropriate to comment on the chaotic statements of the president of Belarus.

During a an extraordinary CSTO Collective Security Council session Chaired by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on October 28, Lukashenko said the situation will get worse if Pashinyan doesn’t make a decision today. He maintained that Armenia “knows” the position of Belarus and the CSTO – of which both are members – hinting at the friendship between the bloc’s members and Azerbaijan.

“We don’t consider it appropriate to comment on the chaotic statements of the president of Belarus, which are detached from the logic of negotiations and by no means of allied nature, challenging the obligations of the member-state signed by him within the framework of the CSTO,” Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan said on Wednesday, November 2.

Press secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Anatoly Glaz defended Lukashenko’s remarks as “realistic, understandable and honest”. According to a report from TASS, Glaz also noted that the conflict is “difficult, but completely solvable”.
