Report: Armenia terminates weapons-sale contract with Jordanian firm

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has terminated the contract with the Jordanian company Jadara Equipment & Defence Systems Co for the supply of weapons.

A letter, signed by Deputy Defense Minister Karen Brutyan, was published on the website of the Armenian Finance Ministry on Wednesday, November 2.

"According to the agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and Jadara Equipment & Defence Systems Co, dated 08/06/2021, you were supposed to ensure the supply of goods, but this did not happen. In this regard, under the agreement, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia unilaterally terminates the contract", the letter reads, according to CivilNet.

The Armenian Defense Ministry has also notified the Jordanian company that it must pay a fine of 23 million drams (about $57,000) within five days.

According to information published on Jadara website, the company produces and sells short and medium range anti-tank systems, as well as Opto-Electronic, Night Vision, and Thermal sighting systems for various military applications.
