Aliyev preparing genocide of Karabakh Armenians, says Pashinyan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is not just threatening, he is preparing the genocide of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, November 10.

According to him, Aluyev has raised similar intention regarding the terms of deployment of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Karabakh, which grossly violates at least three of the trilateral statements issued jointly by the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.

“The President of Azerbaijan himself acknowledged the central and important contribution of the peacekeepers in ensuring security and stability in the area of their deployment. Moreover, he has recognized the need for further efforts of the peacekeepers to ensure stability in the region," Pashinyan said.

According to the Armenian PM, ongoing conversations about the withdrawal of peacekeepers is not only a violation of trilateral statements, but also a preparation for the genocide of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The peacekeepers were deployed immediately after Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani leaders signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh on November 9, 2020.
