RA NA Ecological Commission head is opposed to GeoProMining Company ProjectApril 16, 2009 - 22:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - RA NA Ecological Commission Chairman Khachik Harutyunyan told at news conference today that committee meeting attended by representatives of public organizations, executive authorities, scientists, ecologists was organized recently. The meeting focused on Yerevan and Sevan ecological issues. A workgroup in charge of Yerevan and Sevan ecological issues has been set up. Currently the workgroup is developing 16 programs to submit them to corresponding authorities in near future. The workgroup is headed by NA MP Bagrat Sargsya, Vladimir Movsesyan is in charge of Committee for Sevan Issues. Since 2008 GeoProMiningCompany has been lobbying for construction of gold mining factory and a tailing pit in the territory of Zotk gold bearing mine, located in Sevan watershed zone.
