French parliament resolution calls for sanctions against Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - The French National Assembly on Wednesday, November 30 adopted a resolution demanding sanctions against Azerbaijan, the press service of Yerevan’s embassy in Paris reports.

The resolution calls for the release of all Armenian prisoners of war without any preconditions and suggests that the French government consider the possibility of imposing targeted sanctions should Azerbaijan’s invasion and occupation of Armenian territories continue.

The lawmakers also called on their government to continue mediating the efforts of ensuring the security of the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), as well as consider the possibility of strengthening Armenia’s defense capabilities.

The protection of cultural and historical monuments in territories currently under Azerbaijan’s control was also raised.
