DigiTec EXPO to attract investments to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - 2009 was announced the year of information technologies in Armenia.



"The main goal of the impending DigiTec EXPO is to represent Armenia as a country of information technologies," Enterprise Incubator Foundation director Bagrat Yengibaryan said when representing the annual program of event to be held in the republic.



"It is the mission of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises of Armenia to make Armenia an internationally recognized ICT/High Tech leader, by providing focused, value-added services and initiatives, which include valuable networking, industry advocacy, business and educational services," he said.



The association has the goal to establish in Armenia during the nearest 4-5 years the most prominent regional ICT exhibition. For that purpose, since 2005 UITE organizes DigiTec international ICT/High Tech exhibition, which aims at introducing the best Armenian ICT/High Tech organizations and expanding international connections. Due to events organized during recent years as well as to the constant work the number of participants and the range of represented goods and services in international forth exhibition DigiTec 2008 continuously grow.



About 150 local and international companies participated in DigiTec EXPOs 2005 - 2007, among which were: Microsoft RA, National Instruments, Synopsys, Virage Logic, Industrial Technologies Co, Cornet AM, Instigate, Smart Systems, Armenian Datacom Company, Sourcio, Mika Armenia Trading, Yerevan Telecommunication Research Institute, Yerevan State University, State Engineering University of Armenia, American University of Armenia, Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, European Regional Educational Academy and others. During its history DigiTec EXPO has acquired a number of loyal visitors, about 8000 people, including delegations from Belgium, Greece, Kazakhstan, Russia, Czech, USA, France, and Israel. During the exhibition DigiTec Business Solutions, DigiTec E-management forums as well as the series of DigiLife seminars were organized. Hewlett Packard Russia, Armavia, IBM, D-Link, IT Park, ADC, Intracom Armenia, Aharon Paradigma, Crescendo Networks and other companies' representatives introduced their services in the framework of the seminars. Each time DigiTec EXPO event is intensively highlighted via advanced mass media. Such response shows the important role of the EXPO as one of the most important events of ICT field. Digitec EXPO became an event that is traditionally held under Prime Minister high patronage and its success is highly depends on the collaboration with Government of RA, private and public ICT organizations. During different years the sponsors of EXPO were such well known companies as Hwelette Packard, IBM, Viva Cell, Mika Armenia Trading, ADC, Intracom Armenia, and others.
