Armenia submits applications to ICJ, ECHR amid Azeri provocation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has submitted applications to the International Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) amid Azerbaijan’s blocking of the sole road linking the republic to Nagorno-Karabakh, the office of the representative of Armenia on international legal issues said in a statement on Wednesday, December 14.

"Today, in accordance with the Statute of the International Court of Justice, Armenia informed the Court about the blockade of the Berdzor (Lachin) corridor by Azerbaijan and the violation of the rights of the population of Artsakh (Karabakh),” the statement reads.

“Armenia has also applied to the ECHR with a request to apply interim measures against Azerbaijan and oblige it unblock the Berdzor (Lachin) corridor."

For several days now, the key road has been blocked by Azerbaijanis who claim to be environmentalists. Azerbaijan has also deprived the people of Karabakh of gas supplies.”
