Azerbaijan’s Karabakh blockade “aimed at ethnic cleansing of Armenians”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s ambassador-at-large Edmon marukyan has said that the sole purpose of blockade of Lachin Corridor is ethnic cleansing of Nagorno Karabakh Armenians.

“Day 40, Azerbaijan backed humanitarian crisis in Nagorno Karabakh is still on,” Marukyan wrote on Twitter Friday, January 20.

“The sole purpose of blockade of Lachin Corridor is ethnic cleansing of NK Armenians, a crime against humanity. Blockade of any life channel is an act of aggression. We must name things by their names.”

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.
