Ministry: 7,700 new cases of cancer registered in Armenia each year

PanARMENIAN.Net - 7,700 new cases of cancer are registered annually in Armenia, the Ministry of Health said on the World Cancer Day Saturday, February 4.

Statistics show that trachea, bronchi, lung, liver, bladder and prostate cancers are more common among men, and breast, uterine and cervix cancers are more common among women.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the incidence of gastric and colorectal cancers among both men and women.

Around 10-12 million new cases and 9.6 million cancer deaths are estimated to occur globally each year, according to data from the World Health Organization.
