Rosselkhoznadzor to mull restrictions on import of dairy products from Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Rosselkhoznadzor will consider restrictions on the import of dairy products from Armenia to Russia due to “poor control and violations of restrictive measures by Armenian producers”, RIA Novosti reports citing a statement from the agency.

According to information from the Armenian side, milk processing companies use raw materials produced in Iran, in respect of which restrictive measures have been introduced by the Rosselkhoznadzor.

“Rosselkhoznadzor proposed to the Food Safety Inspection Authority of the Republic of Armenia, by March 31, to discuss the possibility of further supplying dairy products from other manufacturers from Armenia to Russia. Based on the results of the consultations, the issue of imposing restrictions on the supply of dairy products from all milk processing enterprises of the Republic of Armenia will be considered,” the statement says.

The agency reports that during the inspection conducted by Rosselkhoznadzor from March 20 to March 24, it was confirmed that Armenian producers use raw materials from Iranian enterprises that do not have the right to supply to Russia.
