Duty-free limit for imports into EAEU extended for six months

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has extended for six months - until October 1, 2023 - the increased limit for duty-free import of goods into the EAEU for individuals. The decision has already entered into force.

On March 30, the EEC Council announced its decision to extend the increased duty-free threshold, which comes into force 10 days after the official publication. The document was published on March 31st.

The threshold for duty-free importation into the EAEC will be 1,000 euros and 31 kg for goods transported by a carrier or in postal items, brought in as baggage by all modes of transport, except for air, or on foot. If the value of the goods exceeds 1,000 euros or their weight is more than 31 kg, a duty of 15% of the value, but not less than 2 euros for each kilogram of excess, will have to be paid.

At the same time, in Armenia the threshold is 400 euros.

Previously, the threshold was 200 euros for goods carried by a carrier or by mail, and 500 euros for goods brought in as baggage by all means of transport, except by air, or on foot.
