Armenian, French basketball teams to play friendly matches in LA

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian and French national basketball teams will play friendly matches in Los Angeles, Yerevan Basketball Federation reports.

France is the current vice-champion of Europe, and Armenia is the winner of the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries.

Regarding the upcoming friendly matches, the president of the Federation, Hrachya Rostomyan, said: "It is a great honor for us to play a friendly match with the French national team. Armenia and France are friendly countries, which is also reflected in the basketball federations of both countries. In addition to this friendly game, the Armenian Basketball Federation also plans to implement other programs with French partners."

The head coach of the Armenian national team, Rex Kalamian, who is the assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA), also considers the game of great importance.

"Last year, we won the FIBA ​​Championship, and in the future we want to participate in the qualifying round of the World Cup. That is why we will hold a training camp and friendly games in Los Angeles. I am thrilled that France has agreed to come and participate in these 2 games, they are one of the strongest teams in the world. The Armenia-France game will be a great opportunity for Armenians living in California to attend the games and support the Armenian national team."
