Armenian Foreign Minister speaks with new Turkish counterpart![]() June 8, 2023 - 12:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 7, a phone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan and the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Hakan Fidan took place. Mirzoyan congratulated Fidan on his appointment as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. The sides expressed their willingness to continue working towards full normalization of relations between Armenia and Türkiye. Armenia and Turkey in December 2021 named special envoys to discuss the normalization of ties. Four rounds of talks followed on January 14, February 24, May 3 and July 1. ![]() ![]() Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan has said Armenia will, in all likelihood, ratify the Rome Statute. Vaqif Sadiqov has threatened that his country’s military will deploy sniper rifle if EU observers approach the border between the two countries. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will leave for Sochi on June 7 on a three-day working visit.
