Two Karabakh soldiers killed in Azeri attack will be buried in Armenia

The bodies of two Nagorno Karabakh servicemen who died in Azerbaijan’s latest aggression on June 28 were transferred to Armenia through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on July 1 in order to be buried in the Yerablur military pantheon in Yerevan.

According to a report from the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Karabakh (Artsakh), Gegham Stepanyan, the bodies of Yervand Tadevosyan and Samvel Torosyan were transferred to Yerevan in accordance with the desire of their parents.

“Azerbaijan continues false allegations that the dead soldiers were representatives of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Thus, Baku is having the way for new attacks,” Stepanyan said.

“The office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh has already collected the necessary facts and documents, which will soon be published, once again exposing the lies and fabricated nature of the statements of the Azerbaijani side.”

On June 28, at 01:30, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened artillery fire on Armenian positions in the direction of Martuni and Martakert, also using UAVs. Four Armenian troops were killed in the assault.
