Scholz hopes Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty will be signed this year

PanARMENIAN.Net - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz hopes that a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed this year.

At a press conference held after his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Scholz noted that the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was discussed at their meeting, APA reports.

"It is good that the leaders of the two countries are in dialogue. In your last meeting with me, you said that all issues will be resolved through discussions. I expect that both sides will show necessary constructiveness," he said, addressing the Azerbaijani leader.

The German Chancellor added that he had received news about the start of the border delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
