Russian, Azerbaijani leaders expected to discuss Yerevan-Baku settlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - The settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations will be among the topics of negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, RIA Novosti reports, citing documents detailing the Russian leader’s trip to Baku.

Putin is making a state visit to Azerbaijan on August 18-19.

"The presidents will exchange views on current issues of regional and international politics, in particular on the topic of the Azerbaijani-Armenian settlement," the document says.

It is noted that the signing of a peace treaty, delimitation and demarcation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, unblocking economic and logistical ties in the region remain among the key problems to be resolved. According to Moscow, the basis for this should be the trilateral agreements of 2020-2022.

According to said document, Russia has also confirms its readiness to continue to facilitate the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku.
