Peaceful agreement on Karabakh possible only after threat is eliminated
Former Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Ambassador Vladimir Kazimirov once again warned against resumption of hostilities in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone.

"Resumption of military operations is inadmissible. But fancy that a peaceful agreement is signed. Will it help? Will its provisions be fulfilled"," he told a news conference in Yerevan.

Ambassador Kazimirov reminded that not all clauses of the agreement signed in 1995 have been observed. For example, the agreement envisages participation of Nagorno Karabakh as a full-fledged negotiating party.

"Armenia has numerously stated readiness for implementation of all clauses of the agreement. However, no response has come from Azerbaijan so far," he said.

"Azerbaijan is constantly accusing Armenia of violating the ceasefire but never makes suggestions to reduce the number of incidents. So, implementation of any peaceful agreement on Karabakh seems unbelievable unless the threat of resumption of hostilities is eliminated," Ambassador Kazimirov said.
