20 West Nile fever cases recorded in Armenia in past weekSeptember 14, 2024 - 13:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 20 cases of the West Nile fever have been recorded in Armenia in the past week, the Ministry of H; the death toll is 2, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In total, 128 cases of the virus have been registered in the country. According to healthcare professionals, the virus is transmitted to humans only by mosquitos infected by birds. It usually causes mild symptoms but can be dangerous for elderly people and individuals suffering from chronic or severe diseases.
