Blinken stresses importance of dignified Armenia- Azerbaijan peace

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has reaffirmed the importance of a durable and dignified peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday, September 12, Blinken welcomed recent progress between the parties, including an agreement on a border delimitation regulation, Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a statement.

“Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Pashinyan discussed the expanding U.S.-Armenia relationship, including cooperation on energy, trade and investment, and education,” the statement said.

“The Secretary reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to ongoing efforts to support a prosperous, democratic, and independent Armenia that benefits the people of Armenia and the broader Caucasus region.”

Pashinyan’s office, too, issued a statement but did not provide any other details from the call.
