U.S. says will support dignified peace between Armenia, Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Washington continues to support the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement, Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Matthew Miller told a briefing on Monday, September 16.

Obviously we always look for opportunities to convene the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Miller said when asked if Secretary Antony Blinken was going to invite Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers for a meeting in Wasington.

“We continue to support the efforts of both countries to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement.

“They have made significant progress towards finalizing a peace agreement, and we’re committed to supporting them in any way that we can, including convening a meeting if that’s helpful.”

Blinken earlier discussed the peace process with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
