CIS to elaborate a new agreement of free trade zone
The decision on elaborating of a new option of free zone agreement in the framework of CIS, signing of a new trade agreement and accelerating of formation of the New Customs Union between Russia, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan became the most important questions at the sitting of the Council of Heads of CIS Government, told RF deputy minister of economic development Andrey Slepnev.

"The terms of formation of the Customs Union will be corrected and the main elements of the Union will be introduced starting from January of 2010," he said.
As the minister reminded, the issue of formation of the Customs Union will be discussed in Minsk in a week. The recent Russia-Kazakhstan negotiations resulted in a memorandum, in which the sides recognized the formation of the Customs Union as one of the primary directions of their joint activities.
"We also agreed on close coordination and interaction during negotiation in the framework of WTO," explained Mr. Slepnev.

New agreement on free trade zone is projected to elaborate and sign within the first phase of implementation of the strategy of CIS economical development by 2011.

"In the sphere of electrical energy, which is defined as primary by participants, the efforts will be directed to elaboration of energy efficient technologies and search of new energy sources," representative of a work group said. The work group suggested to develop cooperation on the basis of transport international corridors and creation of modern transport infrastructure.

The considerable place during the first phase is devoted to measures aimed at development of the economy's real sector.
