Аrmenian NA Speaker discusses POWs issue with Italian lawmakers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan, who is on a working visit to Italy, met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Giulio Tremonti, Vice Chairman Paolo Formentini, and other committee members.

Simonyan drew his Italian colleagues' attention to the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, emphasizing its urgency and importance.

Alongside discussions on Armenian-Italian cooperation and inter-parliamentary relations, the meeting also focused on Armenia’s European integration process and the planned peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that former military-political leaders of Artsakh, imprisoned in Baku, are being administered psychotropic substances. He cited intelligence reports and claimed this aims to provoke escalation. Baku denies the accusations.
