Pashinyan: visa-free travel will boost ties with EU![]() February 25, 2025 - 11:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a delegation led by Nils Ušakovs, co-chair of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Partnership Committee, highlighting the importance of deepening Armenia-EU relations and maintaining active dialogue. He stressed the need for reciprocal visits at different levels to strengthen partnerships. Pashinyan also discussed the visa liberalization process, noting that it “would enhance people-to-people connections and boost tourism.” He reaffirmed that democratic reforms remain a priority for the Armenian government, emphasizing the significance of continuous EU support in this process. The PM underscored the importance of effectively implementing agreements reached during the Armenia-EU-US high-level meeting. He also positively assessed his recent meeting in Munich with European Council President António Costa. The discussion covered deepening Armenia-EU cooperation and introducing European standards in Armenia. Other topics included Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, regional connectivity through the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, and the border delimitation process. Pashinyan presented 'Real Armenia’ strategic vision and the government’s “balanced and pragmatic foreign policy approach.” The European Commission and Armenia have launched dialogue on visa liberalization, aiming to establish a short-term visa-free regime with the EU, ensuring effective mobility management and security conditions. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
