Unity bloc leads local elections in Parakar![]() March 31, 2025 - 11:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Volodya Grigoryan, the candidate from the Country to Live party and representative of the Unity alliance, has won the extraordinary local council elections held in the Parakar community of Armavir Province, according to preliminary results released by Electoral District Commission No. 14. Out of 21,004 eligible voters, including 37 added on election day, a total of 11,528 citizens participated in the vote. The vote distribution is as follows:
A total of 106 voting discrepancies were recorded. The Country to Live party announced Grigoryan’s victory, as reported by RFE/RL. The party’s leader, Mane Tandilyan, stated on Facebook that Grigoryan secured 57% of the votes. “Let this be the beginning of liberating our homeland from the Civil Contract party,” she wrote. Grigoryan also expressed gratitude to Parakar residents in a Facebook post: “Dear residents of Parakar, thank you for your trust. I assure you—we will build the community of our dreams together.” According to the Electoral Code, the electoral threshold is 4% for parties and 6% for party alliances in local proportional elections. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
