EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas to visit Armenia![]() April 1, 2025 - 12:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas is set to visit Armenia in the near future, according to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is on an official visit to Yerevan. Speaking on March 31 after meeting with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Steinmeier shared the news, as reported by Public Radio of Armenia. Steinmeier did not specify the date of the visit, stating only that Kallas will be engaging in talks while in Armenia. He also noted that the European Union and Armenia plan to discuss the potential signing of a new agreement. During his visit, Steinmeier emphasized that the EU remains one of Armenia’s key trading partners, and Germany is committed to maintaining and deepening this cooperation. He expressed hope that Armenia would succeed on its current path and highlighted efforts by the EU and Germany, particularly regarding the establishment of the EU's monitoring mission aimed at enhancing border security in Armenia. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
