Ruben Vardanyan reflects on journey of self-discovery

PanARMENIAN.Net - Despite being imprisoned in Baku on what he describes as a fabricated case, former Minister of State of Artsakh and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan has once again extended his gratitude through his family to everyone who keeps him in their thoughts—those who mentally stand with him, worry about him, pray for him, write letters, and simply care about the unfolding events in the world, the country, and in our collective lives.

He also shared his reflections, emphasizing that “a person truly feels human through this difficult but honest process of self-discovery.”

“I dedicate these words to my teachers—my beloved parents (sadly now departed) and my dear elder sister. They helped me see the beauty of this world and begin the journey of exploring it and myself. Along with them, I want to thank my other teachers—everyone who played a role in shaping me as a person.

They showed me that someone who keeps searching, walking their path despite hardships and challenges, can indeed be helped. Helped to find the most crucial moments in their search. But this must be done carefully, for each of us matures and absorbs information at a different pace. Much of what my father told me, I only understand now.

We all hear and interpret the same words differently. That’s why each person must reach their point of understanding through a painful, sometimes deeply distressing and complex ‘pregnancy,’ ready for a birth that might be the hardest and even life-threatening.

Only by giving birth to this knowledge within yourself—drawing on experience and memory—can you make that knowledge whole, avoid ambiguity, and turn it into your core. Around that core, a complete and love-filled life can be built. A person truly feels human through this difficult but honest process of self-discovery.

Whoever has ears, let them hear. Whoever has eyes, let them see. Whoever has reason, let them understand. Let those who think and seek come to realization. Let there be light. May goodness and positivity be eternal in our world.

I say this as a citizen of the world—with an Armenian soul, serving God without fear or desire, loving everyone and everything around me, constantly learning, recognizing myself and the world, forming one whole with my wife Veronica, sharing thoughts, connecting people, projects, and ideas in a common space, bridging past and future, Armenia and the world, at peace with myself and conscious of my unrepayable debt before the Lord—for the simple opportunity to be a happy person.

Ruben, son of Karlen.”

Vardanyan noted that the continuation of his reflections, structured around formulated axioms, will be published this coming Sunday.

U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated he had told Azerbaijani counterpart Hikmet Hajiyev that prisoners must be released and a peace treaty with Armenia finalized. Ruben Vardanyan’s lawyer, Jared Genser, has urged Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to closely examine the statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump and Advisor Mike Waltz.
