Turkey is playing an EU-imposed game with Armenia
"Armenia has to support its national interest in negotiating Armenian - Turkish ties normalization," politologist Levon Shirinyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

"We have to satisfy ourselves with what've we currently achieved in Armenian-Turkish relations. Normalization of relations should be a reciprocal process, yet no willingness is observed on Turkey's behalf."

He added that it would be more beneficial to get closer with Iran, as Armenia would have serious achievements as a result of such cooperation.

"As for the possibility of Armenian-Turkish border opening, Turkey understands that the Kurdish population in Turkey would be the first to gain from it, even more so than Turkish people would," Levon Shirinyan noted, adding that Turkey is only playing an EU-imposed game with Armenia.
